As the outreach managers, Sams and Short will work to raise awareness and promote the different types of relay services available for the deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind or speech-disabled communities throughout the state.

Sams previously worked for the Rehabilitation Services Administration as a vocational rehabilitation transition counselor for deaf and hard of hearing students. His experience includes marketing and public relations, as well as teaching American Sign Language at Paradise Valley Community College. Short, who is a child of a deaf adult, has a long history of being an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter. The Scottsdale native became an ASL interpreter as a teen and also worked as a coordinator for a local church. Short graduated from Arizona State University.
