This barbecue joint in Atlanta's Virginia Highland neighborhood is truly a gem. Laid back, comfortable and always a good time, D.B.A. Barbecue serves up some of the best lemon pepper wings I've ever had. In addition to smoking all of their own meats daily (as any great BBQ joint should do), Matt Coggin also has perfected the side dishes with the help of Miss Bev. Notable sides include the out-of-this-world creamed corn, Matt's brunswick stew and the honey corn muffins (unbelieveable).
D.B.A. is also known for their craft moonshine options and boozy slushies. Try the Southern Manhattan (Four Roses and Junior Johnson Apple Pie Moonshine) and the Georgia Mule (Junior Johnson Moonshine, fresh ginger, lime, and ginger beer).
All of these things are great, but my favorite thing at D.B.A. Barbecue has to be The Elvis - fluffy banana pudding layered between maple candied bacon (pictured). Unreal!
