There are so many follow on conversations that will take place addressing guns and motives and healing but the very first conversation which should happen is an appeal to whoever is out there possibly thinking of matching or outdoing this act.
From the president on down - officials, media, employers, newspapers, whoever can have the ear of a potential killer - must speak out and appeal to possible copycats.
We should verbalize an appeal to all the potential shooters who may be contemplating an act.
With all the billions spent on election advertising where are the organizations that can create brief public service clips to blanket TV - clips which would surely catch the attention of any possible copycat watching. The clip would explain where to get help and other options for expressing anger or other emotions - phone numbers, support groups, etc. Sort of an AA for potential killers! It might say "please don't have a flak jacket in your closet that you fantasize about using - but if you do please talk to us first ..."
That's meaningful action!
