Movie stars and professional athletes have a certain power that not all of them appreciate and effectively use for the greater good. The power of a voice and the wealth to support the vision they choose to implement is one of the greatest gifts we can be given as a human being. Former NFL New England Patriots Safety Bret Lockett understands this dynamic and while rehabilitating his injuries, he uses the time to tackles other problems in society.
Lockett became a pivotal leader of the Get It All Campaign, which has a simple yet complex message - if you start something, finish it. The campaign began in spring 2012 with the self-titled music video “Get It All” featuring Prince Syc and DeJuan. It is not a matter of greed but perseverance and dedication to what you are passionate about. Attributes of “Get It All” include but are not limited to integrity, focus, giving back, resilience and diplomacy. Lockett is no stranger to giving back as he helmed the Looking Forward Foundation with the mission to inspire and motivate young teenagers and adults to achieve greatness in and outside of the classroom.
Last year the foundation collaborated with Snoop Dogg for the Youth Football/ Cheer Camp where young kids of all ages could learn from experienced professionals in a program both productive and team oriented. Lockett plans to do something similar in the New Year although details haven’t been released. We can’t wait to see what other plans are in the works for this true all-purpose athlete!
