Sunday night (12/16/12), just after sunset in Melbourne, FL, I went to the TD bank on Nasa Blvd. to make a cash deposit in the ATM of close to $400. All seemed well and the machine began counting my cash, but just moments later the power on the two intersecting streets went down, turning the machine off, and taking with it all of my money. I called the "1-888-call-us-to-wait-forever-on-hold" number, and was informed that they could see me and my fiance losing our minds in front of the ATM, and that everything would be situated in the morning. For the last two days since (it is now Tuesday evening), I have been at the bank as the doors open at 830AM, to find out that the money not only remains MIA, but that there is "nothing more that they can do for me." This has left me unable to pay rent and utilities, buy groceries, and even christmas presents for any of my family members this year.
Imagine taking every bit of cash you have, putting it into an ATM, and having that ATM eat your $400 in cash, as if it were a soda machine in a school cafeteria! TD, "America's Most Convenient Bank," has just proven itself otherwise.
