Have you ever helped someone you truly don't know or do you just keep to yourself? Have you ever felt tested to be that person who extends their hand and heart in a totally selfless manner? As I walk around where I live and where I grew up I don't honestly see much of that going on. People are quick to take care of themself and ignore those in need. I admit there was a short time in my life where I may have walked by someone or a situation where I could have helped. Now with that said we can't all save the world, however little by little we can each make a difference. Writing a check is not what I am talking about.....I am simply talking about dedicating your time to help people you don't know. There is nothing amazing about only doing for yourself and those you know. There is something heroic to oneself by doing a kind act and not doing it for recognition. Most people seem to do things trying to understand what is in it for them.....perhaps the happiness you feel in return is what is really in it for you. No monetary reward can make you feel the way you do when you have helped someone. Helping people creates a warm fuzzy feeling that travels through out your soul. You all are asking how do you know this Brad??? Well, I watched my father take on what I call selfless acts to take care of others. There were many instances he didn't know who he was helping and maybe why. However, he knew there was a deeper meaning to helping others other than telling people he did it. He always did the right thing when being tested in sitiations where others were challenged.
Well, this article is meant to encourage people to help people they don't know. Not with your bank account.....but rather your time....your strength......your hands......and your dedication. Helping people does come with thresholds......but nothing happens if nothing is done......so do something.
