My New Year’s message to Washington is to:
Secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity!
Invest in our children, our schools and our communities.
Raise Taxes on the rich and eliminate corporate loopholes.
And DO NOT cut Social Security or Medicare."
Our Founding Fathers in creating our constitution made it clear what they wanted our country to do, and become, and set it in writing in the Preamble of the constitution. Our government's job should be to honor that mission statement with every law and action they do in our name.
In order to form a more perfect union,
Establish Justice,
>The Middle Class did not break the economy and fixing the economy should not break the middle class.
Tax the Wall Street Bankers, the very rich, and corporations who profited from the risky deals. Use that money to help the rest of us get back on our feet!
Insure Domestic Tranquility!
>Create a Living Wage Law so no one who works in America will be poor, and Universal Healthcare so we don't go broke trying to stay alive!
Provide for the common defense,
>Enact & enforce reasonable gun safety regulations, and convert some military defense contracts to homeland disaster recovery to defend us from storms and droughts!
Promote the general welfare,
>Increase the social security Cap to pay for higher COLA's and decrease the eligibility age to 62 to free more jobs for young unemployed citizens.
