My New Year's message to Washington is the election is over. Voters mandated that with a divided government you work together. That means COMPROMISE!
Expanded beyond video explanation:
CNN's iReport has a new assignment asking iReporters to send a message to the elected officials in Washington DC in the Congress and in the White House. The 2012 election returned President Barack Obama to the White House and retained Democratic control of the Senate, but kept the House of Representatives squarely under the Republicans.
There was only one mandate from voters in choosing to keep government divided: Work together. Or in a single word, compromise. Find common ground and do what's best for the nation, not your ideology or your party.
From the Cornfield, that's my message to the pols in Washington, work together. The clock is ticking. Time is running out. The nation suffers.
