Some of the Eid Traditions that we are most aware of are adorning oneself with new clothes, buying and receiving of presents (dates, chocolates and other sweets, etc) and visiting relatives, the poor and the sick ones.
These photos were taken over last weekend in Balad(Historic Center of Jeddah, where shopping centers with high-end fashion brands can be found, along with the traditional street vendors and open air Souks (Eastern Markets) .
My friend and I were on the verge of buying new things for ourselves. Abayah for her and a new home supplies for me. As we walked from one store to another, we had seen a large number of people around, taking advantage of the Eid promos and discounts.
Yesterday was a very busy day as the people were getting ready for the Eid celebration today. On my way home, I spotted some of my colleagues buying dates and chocolates in a nearby shop.
Vigilance has been observed around the US consulate just accross our workplace. I am so thankful that Ramadan ended succesfully and the Eid Holiday was celebrated peacefully!
