Well known atheist, Richard Dawkins, has recently taken to twitter to chastise Muslims worldwide for their poor performance on Nobel Prize winning noting on Aug 8th that "All the world's Muslims have fewer Nobel Prizes than Trinity College, Cambridge. They did great things in the Middle Ages, though."

In response to the resulting twitter-storm he has written a clarification of his thinking on the subject on his blog as well as wondering aloud on twitter what the atheist statistics are.
Peter Broks, (@peterbroks) author of Understanding Popular Science, did some quick checking on the question Nobels and atheists specifically related to Nobel Peace Prizes. He noted on twitter that in his quick review of Nobel Peace Prize winners available on wikipedia, there were "Sunnis, Shias, Buddhists, Catholics, Jews, Protestants..etc but no atheists" in the last 30 years.

So the question some may ask Richard Dawkins using his own arguement: Are atheists deficient in the area of peace? Does atheism inherently inhibit capability of Peace Prize winning? Or is this an area atheists like Richard Dawkins haven't seen as important in the last thirty years? Or is this a line of reasoning that might be best not followed too far?
