Updates - Egypt, August 17, 2013**
A blockade started at dawn in Ramsis around El Fath Mosque which pro Morsi protesters used as a barricade for the night along with their dead and injured. There were multiple calls by the security forces for protesters to leave through a safe exit. The call was answered by a few throughout the day, yet by midday the majority accepted to leave. Security forces entered the mosque to take control, forces also fired into the air to protect protesters as they exited from the residents who made many attempts to attack them. The number of angry residents was big, many of which were trying to reach the MB protesters, this made it hard for security forces to keep surrendered protesters safe. Some Muslim Brotherhood leaders who were accused of incitement and other judiciary cases were also arrested during the blockade. Prosecution ordered autopsy reports of eleven corpses to know the cause of death.

On what the Muslim Brotherhood called "The Day of Rage" 28 marches were planned in Cairo alone, most of which have turned violent. The most ferocious clashes were in Ramsis where most marches were heading. The clashes left tens of casualties that were taken to a field hospital in a mosque due to the absence of ambulances. It wasn't until later when the ambulances arrived and moved the worst injuries first. Many gun shots were witnessed during the clashes; two protesters shot on the head were seen during what was said to be an attempt to break into Azbakeya Police Station.
A building in the area was burnt down completely, the reason for the fire was not observed. Helicopters that flew near the ground were rumored to be shooting at the protesters, yet it was clear that they did not shoot but might have fired tear gas.

On August 14th, security forces violently dispersed Rabaa and Nahdet Masr sit ins, resulting in hundreds of deaths. Muslim Brotherhood and their supporters met this violence with setting police stations, churches and government buildings on fire. A building in the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University had a huge fire that caused it great damage this morning. Later in the day Islamist protesters headed to Giza governorate building and set its two buildings on fire, one of which is a monumental building.
