Firstly and foremost, as an Indian, I would say sorry to Michaela for the bad experiences faced by her during her visit to India. Feels sad that such incidents of misbehavior happen in a country which believes in "Athithi Devo Bhav" - in Sanskrit which means A Guest is like God visiting you. A country which considers women as "Saraswati" - Goddess of Knowledge, "Laxmi" - Goddess of Wealth - "Durga" - Goddess of Justice, such behavior is against the very culture of our historic land. In modern times age old values are dying, the society moving from Tradition of Family Values to Individualism with focus only on having pleasure and lack of humility, some elements in the society bring such shame to the country. A country with millions not even having basic necessities; values and good behavior are a last priority for some living in such inhuman conditions. Yet, as a woman having lived a life time in India, let me say here, that there are many positives and less negatives in our society. Women in India get far better respect and opportunities then many other places worldwide. Having said this, I feel it is upto the state to come up with stricter laws and their enforcement as is their in many countries to ensure such incidents don't happen. Sorry Michaele, once again..
