Though I believe that the planned military strike by the US and its allies against the Assad regime is in accordance with the international law, such military response should be within a short period of time only. Such military strike should not last for a month and. also, should not be used as an excuse to invade Syria. Though I believe that most members of the international community are in favor of punitive military strikes against the Assad regime for using chemical weapons against its own people, the US and its allies must still consult the UN and the rest of the international community on how to end the crisis in Syria. A prolonged military strike by the US and its allies against the Assad regime may divide the international community in the long run. The UN is still seen as the most credible international organization that can interpret the international law and, therefore, the US should consult the UN and work with it in ending the Syrian crisis.
The US and its allies need the support of the whole international community in their planned military strike against the Assad regime. The US and its allies also need some backing from at least the highest-ranking UN officials to make further military actions against the Assad regime become truly-legitimate in global affairs. The US and its allies must continue to work with the major members of the international community and the UN officials, so that their planned military action against the Assad regime will be seen as truly-righteous and really in accordance with today's standards of enforcing the international law.
I hope the military action by the US and its allies against the Assad regime will not be protracted and will only last for a short period of time. I hope the UN and the whole international community can take decisive steps and measures that will end the Syrian political crisis at the soonest possible time. I do pray that the US and its allies would spare innocent Syrian civilians from being casualties and fatalities in case their planned military action pushes through. I hope a limited no-fly zone will be enforced in Syria by the international community and the UN Organization.
