Some people are suggesting that the reasons the United States has for going to war with Syria are much more diabolical and deceptive than they would like us to know.
We see our government shutting down leak sites, imprisoning whistleblowers, and spying on everyone in the World.
It's not a stretch to come to the conclusion that there just may be more to this story than meets the eye.
The World Socialist Web Site has this take about why the United States want this war with Syria. They suggest that it's been in the planning for some time. I don't agree with their view on this one but believe it's important to see what everyone is saying about this coming war before I make a decision about the need for our country to take action.

"From a geopolitical standpoint, the long-planned war against Syria is yet another step in Washington’s campaign, since the dissolution of the USSR in 1991, to secure its global dominance through military force. Confronted with the protracted decay in its once-dominant position in the world economy, the United States sees in its military power the means of establishing a hegemonic position.
As early as 1992, the Pentagon’s Defense Planning Guidance stated that US policy aimed to prevent the emergence of any power that could become a peer competitor of the United States.
In 2002, the US National Security Strategy stated that the United States would use pre-emptive war to achieve this aim.
A central feature of the global explosion of US militarism is Washington’s drive to secure a dominant position not only in the Middle East, but on the entire Eurasian land mass.
In recent years, the writings of the late 19th and early 20th century imperialist strategist Sir Halford Mackinder have once again become essential texts for the policymakers in the State Department, Pentagon and CIA.
In numerous books and countless articles published in academic journals, what Mackinder called the “world-island”—stretching from the eastern borders of Germany to the western border of China—is deemed to be of decisive strategic importance to the United States and its West European allies."

American's are war weary. We have seen our government and country at war for a decade. Now we're being told we need to 'take action' against a brutal dictator that's gassing his people.
What George W. Bush meant to say was, "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me."
I've read and listened to the information that's available for our reasons for acting in Syria and the reasons we shouldn't.
We need to believe that our government’s action is justified and we look to our news sources to help us understand what's at stake if we fail to act.
Americans have a conscience.
I have concluded that this action is morally correct. From the evidence we have, we must stop this murderer.
But God help our government if this turns out to be Iraq.
Americans will never believe there's a reason to take action again.
Will the United States be the nation that,"cried Wolf" over Syria?
Let's hope not.
It wouldn't fair well for our nation's leadership, if we find there's no wolf, again.
