Members and guests of The Legacy Willow Bend gathered around the community courtyard fountain to participate in a moving community Tashlich service as part of the observance of Rosh Hashanah.

Cantor Don Croll from Temple Shalom led the members in the traditional Tashlich prayers and songs, followed by the throwing of breadcrumbs into the community fountain releasing sins and transgressions from the past year.

“In throwing the breadcrumbs into the water, we are releasing our transgressions from the past year and looking forward to a new year,” said Cantor Croll. “As the water carries away the bread, so too are our sins carried away. We are creating a new heart and a new spirit.”

“It is a beautiful tradition and wonderful to see members of the community, their families, guests and staff of The Legacy Willow Bend celebrating the New Year together,” said Marilyn Israel, executive director, The Legacy Willow Bend. “I am proud that our community offers this beautiful, traditional service, and we will continue to make it memorable and special every year.”
