A Houston Couple Locks Up the Kissing Contest
A couple that got engaged one week ago has proven that they have the dedication needed for a long and happy marriage.
Joseph Randle and Kwanita McDaniel of Houston stayed lip-locked for 4 and a half hours, outlasting 17 other couples to win the Bridal Extravaganza’s annual “Kiss Off.”
“We thought we were just coming to shop for our wedding next year. We didn’t know we’d spend the whole afternoon making out,” laughs Joseph.
The couple won an all expense paid honeymoon to a 5 star resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. They plan on getting married Valentine’s Day in 2014.
“I’m not even a big kisser,” confesses Kwanita. “I have chapped lips right now, but it was worth it. Our honeymoon is paid for.”
Laurette Veres, the producer of the show and creator of the kissing contest, says this makes for a happy ending for a couple, who certainly earned it.
"They kissed non-stop standing up with no meal or bathroom breaks for all afternoon," she said. "Now that's pucker power!"
The Bridal Extravaganza runs through Sunday at 5pm. It's one of the largest shows in the Southwest attracting nearly 20-thousand over the weekend.
