DON’T GIVE UP – The story of a most inspirational woman

Bhavna Bhen has been serving the community teaching the power of thought, attitude and intention in an incognito campaign to make the world a place of peace- one soul at a time for the past twenty years. Many souls have found peace, hope and direction in her Raja Yoga Meditation classes. At age 42 she experienced a major stroke which left her dominant right side completely paralyzed for several months and semi-paralyzed even until today. Having come from a dance and acting background in LA most would have given up. However, she will happily tell you that her body had the stroke but she never did because she never took one moments sorrow from it. She is the embodiment of that which she speaks.
Accustomed to expressing herself through dance, acting and playing the guitar and no longer able to do any of those things anymore she searched for a new form of expression. Four years ago, at age 56, she dug through her garage, picked up a one- inch house painting brush, some half dried out craft paint, stood before a large piece of cardboard and discovered that she could paint. Had she lost her courage and given up, this discovery could not have been made. Her paintings touch the very soul of the viewer, From her vision, the soul is revealed on the canvas through the eyes.
The next 18 years, her life consisted of moving from chair to chair. Finding it increasingly difficult to live on the 500. disability check received from SS she went back to school to secure a new career in a job that she could sit down for- graphic design. Knowing nothing about the computer and with a right hand that cannot use the mouse she worked very hard, performing all assignments with her awkward left hand. She knew that she would have to work harder than anybody to do the simplest things but she also knew that she could do anything that she set her mind to do.
Bhavna not only graduated Full Sail University with a BS in graphic design, she did so with honors. She graduated top of her class, Valedictorian, received Course Director Awards in “advanced motion graphics” and “page layout and typography”. And it didn’t stop there. Much to her amazement she was conferred the highly coveted and most prestigious award that the school offers only one student per degree program: The Advanced Achiever Award”. Please listen to Bhavna's insprirational speech that made the house spring to it’s feet upon conclusion.

This is a truly inspirational, feel-good story.
Having graduated in May 2013 Bhavna eagerly sent many resumes to offer her services. Her Advanced Achiever Award signified amongst other things “most likely to succeed” and yet, her dream of becoming a graphic designer or represented by a gallery remains elusive. Bhavna is self-motivated, dedicated , skilled and extremely creative. Bhavna would be a huge asset to any creative team or gallery.
