2013 was a year of traveling for me. Since I currently live in Bangkok, Thailand I am able to travel to a lot of countries in Asia. This year I was lucky enough to go to Indonesia, Malaysia, Southern Thailand, India, Malta, and Sicily. I loved going to each of these places for different reasons, but the greatest moment throughout my travels was FINALLY seeing the Taj Mahal.
Ever since I saw movies that were based in India I have always had this desire to experience India. Last March I booked a trip where I would travel from New Delhi to Jaipur to Karauli to Agra and then back to New Delhi in a week's span. It was an amazing week with so many new experiences and adventures, but the absolute cherry on the sundae was going to the Taj Mahal for sunrise on Easter Sunday. When I booked the trip I had no idea first that I would get to celebrate Holi in India, which was AMAZING, but also that I would get to visit the Taj Mahal on Easter. I was completely mesmerized by the Taj Mahal I never got tired of looking at it. I had to stop myself from taking too many pictures. It was almost spiritual for me. I would have gladly spent the entire day at the Taj Mahal watching its marble exterior change colors with the sun. I was lucky enough to see the Taj Mahal for sunrise and then at sunset our group went to the gardens across the river to see it one last time. Since we planned to leave the next afternoon the Taj Mahal became the last sight I saw while in India and it was the best.
