The Digicel Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant Show organizing committee have announced the 11 contestants for the 34th edition of the most prestigious pageant in the Caribbean.

Pageant Organisers confirmed some 11 countries from around the region, including Barbados, Domnica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Monsterratt, Nevis, St.Lucia, Trinidad, USVI and hosts St.Kitts.

According to Chairman and Executive Producer of the Pageant, Antonio 'Director' Maynard, the pageant's organising committee is working hard to maintain the show's extremely high standard and further enhance its status as one of the most anticipated, exciting and prestigious pageants in the Caribbean.

“Plans are progressing perfectly and this event continues to be the most popular and prestigious event of its kind in the Caribbean and we intend to keep it that way,” Maynard said.

'We're incorporating and implementing new initiatives, to raise the show to an even higher standard for this 34th edition of the show,” Maynard said.

The show has been synonymous over the years with spectacular stage productions and guest performances and performers. Machel Montano, Allison Hinds, Singing Sandra, Edwin Yearwood, Jamesy P, Claudette Peters and more, as well as top Caribbean comedians and personalities, including Rachel Price, Tommy Joseph, Jennifer “Jenny Jenny” Small among others have all graced the Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant stage.

Marketing and Guest Artiste Coordinator of the show, Wallis Wilkin, indicated that the name of the special guest host and guest artiste for this year's event will be announced shortly.

“As always you can expect another great performer this year and an even greater stage show and production,” said Wilkin.

Past contestants in the show including Claudetter CP Peters and Pat Raguette, have gone on to regional success as performers. Claudette is a multi-time Antigua Carnival Party and Groovy Soca monarch and Raguette has won both the St Thomas and St Croix road march titles as lead singer of the Express band.
The show will take place on December 30th at the Sugar Mill in Warner Park.
The show began in 1980 and is the first show of its kind in the region that showcases the talents of female Caribbean teenagers. With the demise of the Hal Jackson International Show the Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean is not only regarded as the top pageant of it’s kind in the Caribbean but also in the World.
