After my blood pressure steadily rising year over year and my doctors warnings at every yearly checkup I decided to make a change. I started going to the gym and running two years ago and my running distances gradually increased. I would do 10km races and run every second day. Four months ago my Brother in-law told me about the Rock'n'roll half marathon that he and his son had signed up for. I thought why not and signed up for the half marathon that took place in Las Vegas November 17'th this year. I increased my running in August to about 35km a week and increased my speed every week. I turned 55 three days before for the race. It ranks up there as one of the best things I have ever done. I ran it in 2:00:46 and felt incredible after. Now I'm hooked and in the best shape of my life.
