Did a big food run yesterday, we are getting access to larger trucks. All my posts are typed on my iPhone, take about an hour each. last night when I got in I was just too exhausted, I fell asleep with my dinner in my hands uneaten.
My good friends Craig Arnold and Andre whom I worked with in Haiti arrived. They are staying with us, and working on larger deliveries with the Salvation Army. We did some scouting this early am, and have a distribution this afternoon.
Had 2 really great assessments today with Craig and Andre, one was for food (we have some pictures of this coming soon) the other was for building materials for home repair. We also loaded the truck up today and the Salvation Army distributed 39,000 meals. Big things are happening, we have a larger shipment ~405,000 meals coming this week, and if the funding is approved, up to triple that amount shortly thereafter. I pray that funding is acquired because these people really need it. Tomorrow am I will be going out again with Craig and the Salvation Army for assessments on who to give the food to. I feel honored and privileged to work with SA and especially Craig Arnold who is extremely talented with the logistics part (moving the goods). It also means that we will be unloading and loading an absolutely ridiculous amount of food by hand. This next shipment should take about 4.5 hours of working non-stop…looks like we will need more hands.
Had a great conversation with Craig tonight about everything thats going on, where we have been together (Haiti) and possible future plans for my own aid group.
Early morning tomorrow. Wish us luck!

My good friends Craig Arnold and Andre showed up last night. I worked with these two in Haiti. Andre is the real life "world's most interesting man", Craig works for UPS but advises/volunteers with the Salvation Army and knows how to make huge amounts of food get distributed. They are two powerful allies.

Scouting in Tanuian this morning, going to try to get 765 families in this area some food. They haven't received any aid, so they have been fending for themselves the last 2 weeks.

Craig and I had a great discussion last night about everything from the systematics of food delivery, to where to send it, etc. I feel like it was the best mentoring session I could get on the topic. So thankful to have him here
