Ho Ho Ho...
Santa Claus is in the town. Actually not one,but thousands of them. And elves, and raindears and ginger bread cookies, and even walking Christmas Trees. Everything because of annual Santacon. It takes place in many countries for passed years.
The first SantaCon took place in San Francisco in 1994.
In 2011, Santa raised $10,000 for Toys for Tots and donated over 6,000 lbs of food to Manhattan and Brooklyn food banks.They continue the food drive and collecting toys this year as well.
As wonderful as the idea sounds, unfortunately many Santas use the event as an excuse to get drunk and behave recklessly. Thousands of Santas is visiting many bars and pubs starting at 10:00am.
Santacon in New York City started today - December 15th 2012, at Pier 84 at 42nd street. At 10:20am you could see policemen giving tickets to some participators for drinking alcohol in public place.
Some Santas were playing dodge- ball which ended with broken camera and bleeding hand of a camera person filming the event.
Santas started to walk to bars after 11:00am. The schedule included stops f.ex. at night clubs, Grand Central Terminal, Rink at Bryant Park, Union Square and more. The After party is going to take place at Brooklyn at 7:00pm.
If Santas still be standing on their feet it is.
