I own many firearms. Why? Because as an American, I CAN. Also, just about anyone else can so hell if I am gonna be unarmed. I grew up with education about firearms and a healthy respect for them. I have never fired a shot in anger and I hope to God I never have to use a gun to take a life. But if it's gonna be me or you, I'm gonna try to make it you. That's the American way, anyone who says different has to read up on some history.
The point I would like to make is how I don't think gun laws work, they are inherently flawed (and how many times does someone have to say THIS: Criminals and insane people don't care about our laws in the first place).
Here is the specific point I would like to make: Among the many firearms I own, the one pictured above is an Intratec AB-10. It used to be called a TEC-9, a weapon that have been vilified by the media since it's inception. The AB-10 and the TEC-9 are pretty much the same weapon. A TEC-9 had the "evil" barrel shroud making it substantially longer than the AB-10. The day the Assault weapons ban went into effect the AB-10 went into gun shops with an improved design, a shorter barrel (making it MUCH easier to conceal) and it still accepted the same high capacity magazines as it's predecessors. AB-10 stands for After Ban 10 round Magazine (nice tounge-in-cheek way to thumb their noses at the ban eh?) In effect, the AWB made this weapon more dangerous and no less easy to acquire. In the picture I chose to show the box of 9mm rounds to illustrate how many bullets the magazine can hold (32). You can get a 50 round magazine for these as well.
I use my firearms for plinking, target shooting, investments, self defense and hunting. Like I said before, I hope I never have to use my guns to defend myself, my family or go up against a tyrannical force. But at least I have the choice, and for now, the right.
