Shocked and Ashamed on my Country

An incident so sad and shocking has made me think if it’s right in my part trying to paint a nice picture of India among my friends and colleagues in US.
I felt so ashamed and embarrassed when they asked me the details about Delhi case. My patriotism is vanishing now.
A country where men have lost their morals, think women as a piece of object, can never survive in long run. At this point of time, I don’t even feel like being associated with India.
I can’t stop thinking about the poor girl who boarded the bus to reach home. Her fault: she boarded the wrong bus. And oh yeah, SHE WAS A GIRL!!! Six men raped her one by one, rammed an iron rod inside her vagina. And left her to die on the road. Naked. Wounded. Exposed. Devastated. What’s more no one even turned to look at her. No one even bothered to throw a shawl on the unclad, ill-fated girl. She can never lead a normal married life again. She has gone into coma five times since 16th December. She is unconscious, critical and hasn’t been able to stop crying. But no-one bothered, she wasn’t their sister. She wasn’t their daughter. But she could be.
With public fury and protests, our beloved government is still doing nothing. And then they talk about progress and rights of the citizen. A country which makes citizens ashamed, wishing to have an army rule, can only result in one thing: A revolution.

The brutality has to stop. These people deserve a capital punishment for their heinous, pervert act. I VOTE FOR A CAPITAL PUNISHMENT.
