What is Dragon Boats? It is a boat with decorative Chinese dragon head and tails. Dragon boat races is a paddling sport. Dragon Boat Festival is not just a tradition but there are many traditions behind its competition.
The Philippine Canoe Kayak Federation held its first Dr.Sim's dragon boat racing last August 4, 2013. This festival is giving honor to its Founder and President of Philippine Canoe Kayak Federation (PCKF). It's a competition of Men, Women and Mix team. The event took place at the Manila Bay and many spectators watch the event.
A day before the event, preparations were done to bring in the 4 boat(brought in by a truck), floating balls, and other things needed in the event.
In the actual day, different colors represent each team and each team you can see in their face its not the competition they are after but the enjoyment of being part of the event. Also the importance that the event is for the founder of PCKF, Dr. Sim.
It did not rain during the event but after the awarding of winners and heavy rain falls. The weather really cooperate to give way for this event of PCKF.
