It was not on my bucket list, but then at 6 a.m. I found myself standing on this beautiful neo-Gothic style suspension bridge that links Manhattan to Brooklyn. As a first time visitor, I walked back and forth the Brooklyn Bridge. Did some running. Sat on the empty bench too. It was a great day except for a little incident. My excitement to picture every angle of the bridge almost got myself and the cyclist hurt. From no where, I heard... BIKE LANE! BIKE LANE! BIKE LANE! YOU’RE ON THE WRONG SIDE! So surprised, I was not able to move. Thank God, the biker was not a jerk! He stopped as best as he could. My fault and I apologized. He told me to be careful and pedalled away. Soon I felt like I was watching the final stage of Tour de France, cyclists round and round the bridge at breakneck speed. I didn’t know that the bridge is also for biking, but I think hard core bikers and slowly moving massive crowd / unknowing tourists not a good combination though. Still I enjoyed my visit, a memorable one! If you plan to visit this historic bridge, just beware of cyclists!
