We adopted my sister Elizabeth 13 years ago at birth. The mother was 17 and she already had a ten month old baby. My mom was in the delivery room and even got to name her. We call her Libby for short. Two weeks before Thanksgiving this year my sister and another boy were being teased at school because they looked so much alike. The boy approached her and said that his mother had given up a baby for adoption 13 years ago but he knew it wasn't her because the baby's name was Elizabeth and her name is Libby. My sister told him that she was adopted 13 years ago and that her real name is Elizabeth. They found each other. His name is Kaleek. My sister went home and told my mom what had happened. My mom was terrified but instead called the bio mom and dealt with the issue straight on. They ended up talking for hours and the next day my sister's bio mother and brother came over for dinner. Everything was comfortable and pleasant. We not only adopted my sister but are now adopting her family. They are coming over for thanksgiving, Christmas eve and her and her brother have been playing together. This Thanksgiving I am so thankful that my sister's family is complete and that our family as a whole has expanded. My sister will never have to wonders or have an emptiness. That is the greatest moment of 2013 for us.
