Why am I against Illegal Immigrants

No… I am not some back woods, survivalist, redneck white republican angry at the most recent election. I am a first generation immigrant, who went through all the immigration issues. Then you would ask why I would be against other immigrants.
First, I want to make a distinction between me and hundreds of thousands other legal immigrants and the 12 million plus illegal immigrants.
• Immigrants like me, who spend time sometimes years, energy, money, followed the laws and regulation of this country, jump through all the hoops the government throw at us came here with the permission of this country to live and work here.
• Illegal Immigrants however, spend time and money NOT to follow the laws and regulation of this country, avoid all checks the governments conducts came here without the permission of this country.
I am not against Immigration, I am against illegal Immigration.
So if you want to comment, Please, please, make a distinction.
Why am I against this president’s attempt to legalize all the illegal immigrants in this country?
1. 1986, the government passed the Immigration Reform and Control Act, which legalized approximately 3 million Illegal immigrants in the hope to control the border and control the illegal immigration problem. Many arguments we are hearing now we already debated in 1986. Yet, after we legalized 3 million illegal immigrants in 1986, we want to legalize 12 million now? Are we going to do the same thing again in 30 years? Winston Churchill said famously “Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” If amnesty did not work in 1986, why do we want to make the same mistake again?
2. Many compared the illegal immigrants to the colonists from Europe in the 1700s. What they don’t realize is that there was no country at that time; there were no immigration laws at that time. I am not defending what happened to the Native American people, but compare the illegal immigrants to the colonists is just not logical.
3. Many also compared the illegal immigration issue to the civil rights struggle of the 1960s. I think this is an insult to the civil rights activists. The laws of the 1960s denied rights to one specific group of people purely based on the skin color. That was unjust, racist and needed to be changed. However, I challenge anyone to point out anywhere in the current U.S. immigration law discriminate against any group of people based on the nationality or race.
4. Many claim that illegal immigration problem is the result of the backlog of the U.S. immigration process. My first question is, “is it O.K. to break the law just because inconvenience?” Every year there are millions people apply to immigrate to U.S., and by far U.S. admit the largest number of immigrants. There is a very short line to immigrate to North Korea, there is no backlog, because no one wants to live there. There is a law, there is process, We, who are not fortunate enough to be born in this country are given a privilege to come here, live here and work here. It is not a right.
5. Many claim this is a human rights issue. I quote U.N. declaration of human rights article 13 “Everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each state. Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country”. Please note that nowhere it says Everyone has the freedom of movements and residence on earth, or in any state or it says Everyone has the Freedom to enter any country. Furthermore, Article 6 states “Everyone has the right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law.” Note we are all equal before the law everywhere, what the illegal immigrant and their advocates believe is that they are above the law. They openly defy the immigration law, they openly dare police to arrest them, they believe they are above the law.
6. Many on both Democratic and Republican party claim that it is politically prudent to give amnesty to illegal immigrants, and rightly or wrongly, the past election is largely lost by Mitt Romney because his “self-deport” remark and President’s executive order to allow some illegal immigrant not to be deported. What exactly does that say about our election process? What exactly does that about the people who support illegal immigrants? People like me were called bigots, racists, cold hearted amongst other names. When one group of people throw their full support to one party because that party’s leader willing to give amnesty to a group of law breakers so happens majority of the law breakers belongs to this group. Who exactly is the racist here?
7. Every year, United States admits millions of legal immigrants, What makes these illegal immigrants so special that they don’t have to follow the rules, laws, and regulations that millions of us follow? United States was built on the concept of fairness. Why did we have the women’s suffrage movement? Because treating women different than men under the law was not fair. Why did we have civil rights movement? Because treating people with different skin color differently under the law was not fair. Now, is it fair for millions of people who waited in line and millions of others are still waiting in line to come here to allow a group of people who dismisses this country’s law and come here now gets to stay here? Is it FAIR?
These reasons against Illegal immigrants are not exhaustive. There are social economic reasons as well which I will not go to length to discuss.
People like me are not racist, not bigots, we don’t care what is the skin color of the immigrant, We don’t care the original nationality of the immigrants, we don’t care the religion of the immigrant, we don’t care reason why the immigrant want to immigrate. We don’t care. We ask anyone wants to come to is country we adopted and love, follow the laws of the country; follow the process, no matter how hard is it. Good things usually not easy to get.
We only ask fairness.
